With the 14th Dalian University of Technology Model United Nations Association successfully held, let's take a look back at the overview of these three days.
Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony of the 14th Dalian University of Technology Model United Nations Association was held as scheduled on October 18th.
The Deputy Director, International Office, DU and the director of DUTMUNA, Mr. Li Xiaodan delivered a speech to express his best wishes and expectations for the future development of DUTMUN, and the anticipation of the performance of the contestants.
Then, Gong Mengxiang, the outstanding delegate of New York Model United Nations Association 2019 and representative of the delegation of DUT delivered a speech to tell the story of himself and MUN.
Finally, Jia Shuyan, the secretary-general of Model United Nations Association of DUT delivered a speech to declare the opening of the conference.

Session
General Assembly First Committee
This time, the General Assembly First Committee(GA1) in the DUTMUN set the agenda as the topic of Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications in the Context of International Security. After the combined efforts of all the delegates, three Draft Resolutions were passed. Those brave and diligent delegates handed in their answers towards these striking questions and harvested their friendship.
United Nations Environmental Assembly
The UNEA, meanwhile, was concernded about the topic of Preventing and Reducing Air Pollution to Improve Air Quality Globally as well as Promoting the Responsible Disposal of Electronic and Hazardous Waste. Under the mutual efforts done by all the delegates, common ground was stressed and they successfully carried out resolutions which the majority of the countries agreed. Many delegates, for the first time, introduced their methods to solve this globally concerned issue. Congratulations to them all!
General Assembly Third Committee
At the same time, The General Assembly Third Committee(GA3) was tackling issues on Combating Human Trafficking and Strengthening Humanitarian and Disaster Relief Assistance. Although conflicts did exist over a series of resolutions, delegates managed to share the same opinion and reached a mutual consensus at last. Two Draft Resolutions finally passed and 'became the official resolutions adopted by the DUTMUN. 'All delegates shared the same joy that despite the sleepless night and exhausting papers, their efforts had finally paid off so as to make the world a better place.
Main Press Center
Main Press Center also played a vital role during the whole sessions. Their remarkable short reports and news strongly promoted the process of the formal session and provided all delegates with a new perspective of the session. Their amazing performance during the press conference, their tricky questions, elegant behaviors all reflected their confidence about what they can do to impact all delegates.
Tea Break & Social Event
Serious sessions only reflected part of the DUTMUN2019, we also prepared delighted activities for all delegates to relax, enjoy delicate snacks and invited all delegates to show themselves on the stage. Let’s review these happy moments through several photographs.
Closing Ceremony
With the joint efforts of all participants, the agendas of the 14th DUTMUN conference has been successfully held.
Tutor Fan Yu, the guide teacher of Model United Nations Association, Dalian University of Technology, delivered a speech to express her feelings about MUN and academic guidance over the years. The students benefited a lot from the speech.
Then, Shu You, from the National University of Defense Technology, Li Erzhuo, the representative of delegation of the Harbin Institute of Technology and Mo Dongyun, from Kaifaqu campus delivered a speech.
In the past two and a half days, we have shown our own styles both inside and outside the venue, truly gained by participation, and made a lot of like-minded friends.
In the end, the students were awarded the certificates of outstanding representatives of presidium members of each committee.

Ending Through this MUN experience, we have achieved a primary understanding of UN, practiced our English ability, harvested long-lasting friendship and broadened our horizons. This memorable experience should be treasured by all of us forever.
